Last year, the Ross Community Center was awarded an IU Health Community Investment grant. The grant would allow for capital improvements in the Thomas Park/Avondale Neighborhood surrounding the Ross Community Center. This grant helps improve sidewalks along 10th Street, Birch Street, and Hoyt Avenue. Promotion of business investment, health and wellness programming, and activities at the center were taken into account as well. We believe it’s important to recognize our community, which has lifted us for improvement so we can help the Muncie community any way we can. Below you will find two important funding investments local businesses have bestowed upon the center.
Funding from the Ball Brothers Foundation:
- Construction of a third ballfield to complete the triad of youth baseball fields for tournaments.
Funding from the Sherman and Marjorie Zeigler Foundation:
- Renovation of Rose Park into a place of gathering, learning, and activities for all ages.
