Dear Community Members, Neighbors and Friends,
The Ross Community Center turned 50 years old this year, becoming a busy community center on the south side of Muncie. We want to see this much-expanded organization continue its success into its second 50 years and are challenging you to help us take one step in making that happen.
Today, because of our involvement in the community and our interest in hardworking non-profits, we are learning more and more about what the center is and what it does. As a true community center focusing on education, lifelong learning, wellness, and health, the center has programs ranging from baseball and soccer to youth strings classes and summer learning camps. Over the last year, adults from thirteen countries completed English as a Second Language classes. Since Covid began, 517,012 pounds of food have been distributed, and that initiative continues in a bi-weekly dissemination. The beautiful campus with athletic fields, gardens, and playgrounds are a real community treasure. The list goes on and on.
We know that the Ross Community Center serves all of Delaware County but are especially proud that it is a jewel of Muncie’s south side where we grew up. When the Center was built, we were both young adults in graduate school and beginning our careers, but we’ve been fortunate to call Muncie home most of our lives and continue to do our part in making the community and its families successful. Now, it’s time for us to help and inspire you to join us in securing Ross Center’s next 50!
